PS4 doesn’t allow YouTube sharing? Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida offers vague reassurance

Front-facing Twitter champion Shuhei Yoshida has addressed concerns that PlayStation 4 won’t allow video sharing to YouTube via the Share button or HDMI capture, but we still don’t have concrete answers.

Shuhei’s words come in response to rumors that the DualShock 4’s Share button won’t send videos to YouTube, with other platforms, like Facebook, Twitch, and Ustream, supported instead. Furthermore, there are allegations that direct HDMI capture isn’t possible.

Here’s what Shuhei has to say, as the collective gaming world holds its breath and awaits an answer to this crucial question:

Well, that’s… something, right? At least Sony is thinking about gamer interests, but should this even be an issue to begin with? What is it about YouTube that complicates video sharing over, say, Facebook or Twitch? Heck, Mark Cerny seemed to confirm on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that YouTube uploading was a feature; what’s with these rumors, anyway? Did Cerny misspeak?

We’re continuing to investigate, so stay glued to PSU.com as we dig to the bottom of this unfortunate story. Fingers crossed!
