Hideo Kojima and Project Morpheus would be ‘awesome,’ says Sony

Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) chief Shuhei Yoshida has expressed his excitement at the prospect of Hideo Kojima working with Sony’s upcoming Project Morpheus.

Yoshida-san’s comments come following speculation that the Metal Gear creator’s upcoming horror title, Silent Hills, would utilize the VR tech due to its playable teaser, P.T., focusing on a first-person viewpoint.

“That would be awesome,” the executive told The Verge, when quizzed about Kojima-san getting his hands on Morpheus. “Kojima-san has always liked gadgets. He always has some future vision for some gadgets."

He added: “Have you played the Destiny beta? Half of the time I was just hiding out in the Tower, just chilling, looking at the great vista. That would be great in a VR setup.”

Of course, nothing has been announced in regards to Silent Hills possibly using Sony’s upcoming VR device, but it’s still early days yet.

Silent Hills stars The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus and is unlikely to come out until 2016. Regardless, Kojima-san wants it to be as scary as possible, and promises a focus on ‘pure horror.’
