Fresh off the back of the news that PlayStation 4 fans would be treated to remastered editions of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in March of this year, Gearbox Software head honcho Randy Pitchford has dropped a tantalizing hint that the reveal for Borderlands 3 may be coming sooner than anticipated.
Prompted by a query on a Q&A panel as to when the next Borderlands would be revealed, Pitchford responded bluntly by saying: ”April. Goodbye!” – before then expanding upon his disingenuous answer by teasing that there may be something about it at Gearbox Software’s main theatre panel on the Sunday (January 25) PAX South.
The possible announcement would in theory keep the Borderlands hype train on track what with the purported game’s predecessors currently pencilled in for a March release date on next-generation systems.
One thing’s for sure – the idea of a non-cross-generation Borderlands is enough to whet the appetites of even the most dispassionate of gamers.
