Criterion: No plans for Black sequel

Criterion Games has said that the firm currently has no plans to develop a sequel to its 2006 First Person Shooter (FPS) Black, despite rumours to the contrary.

Speaking to D-pad magazine, Burnout Paradise Lead Designer, Craig Sullivan, commented, "Sorry to disappoint you, but as we’ve mentioned many times on our podcast we’re not looking at making another Black game any time soon.”

Released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, Black marked the Criterion’s first attempt at the FPS genre, having previously been involved in working on the highly successful Burnout franchise.

The game featured an extensive marketing campaign and was generally well received by critics.

"Although the rumours never seem to go away and we still get a lot of letters from fans, we’re honestly not working on that game at the moment. I doubt the rumours will go away though," added Sullivan.
