Mass Effect Andromeda dev teases first ‘holy sh!t’ moment from gameplay

BioWare’s Jos Hendriks has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on a recent hands-on session with the hotly anticipated sci-fi RPG.

In particular Hendriks noted that this is the first time he has played Andromeda without being restricted to content he has created himself. As such, he’s been allowed to experience the creations of other members of the team, and from the sound of things, the game is shaping up rather impressively to say the least.

Check out his Tweets below.

Mass Effect Andromeda is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One and is pencilled in for a holiday 2016 release. The game is a complete departure from the previous games starring Commander Shepard, and will take place in a new part of the galaxy, the eponymous Andromeda system, as gamers explore new uncharted worlds with their squad members.

BioWare has been teasing details on the game for months now on Twitter, with the most recent news revealing that Andromeda will feature destructible cover and a new ship design. A recent hiring spree by the team suggests that it is working on improving AI behavioural patterns, and that the game will look just as good, if not better, than the recent Star Wars Battlefront.

Interestingly, despite the requests for a high-definition remaster of the original Mass Effect trilogy, publisher Electronic Arts has indicated that it’s not likely to release the games on current-generation hardware. In fact, it’s apparently not all that keen on the idea of HD Remasters in general. Mass Effect recently celebrated its annual N7 Day with a new teaser trailer for Andromeda, which featured a voiceover by the female Commander Shepard (Jennifer Hale).
