Speaking during an interview with OPM UK, Respawn Entertainment CEO and Founder, Vince Zampella, explained the importance of bringing Titanfall 2 to the PlayStation 4 in light of the original’s exclusivity with Xbox.
“Ultimately, it’s about bringing in as many people as possible to play the game. We spent years of our lives making these things, so we want as many people as possible to see them. It makes sense,” Zampella explained.
“We want playerbase so the games are more fun and more balanced, we want to get better games going, but it’s also just…this is all about the fans. It’s bringing things to the world that people enjoy, so the more the merrier.”
Titanfall 2 release date confirmed for fall 2016
Publisher Electronic Arts announced earlier this summer that Titanfall 2 will hit PS4, PC, and Xbox One on October 28, 2016. This puts the science-fiction shooter in close proximity to another major EA release, namely Battlefield 1.
Unlike the first instalment in the mech-based franchise, Titanfall 2 will be equipped with a full-fledged single-player campaign in addition to its robust multiplayer features.
Respawn recently announced that Titanfall 2 will support Multiplay Game Services in order to combat server downtime.
