Red Dead Redemption 2 has been officially announced by Rockstar Games this afternoon following more than two years of on-off rumors.
Red Dead Redemption 2 release date set for next year
The sequel to 2010’s critically acclaimed Wild West adventure game will debut for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in fall 2017. Interestingly, there appears to be no plans for a PC version despite the fact Rockstar is probably aware of the demand after neglecting to release the original game for home computers.
“With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we’ve learned making games."
Rockstar had previously teased Red Dead Redemption 2 over the past few days with some new artwork on its official website. No further details are available at this point regarding the game, although the trailer will no doubt reveal some crucial info.
