Resident Evil 7: biohazard supports PlayStation VR from start to finish, but those of you who own a PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to experience the upcoming survival horror title with even greater visual fidelity.
Resident Evil 7 PS4 Pro to enhance your gameplay experience
Capcom has revealed (via GamingBolt) that those of you who own Sony’s new high-end console can expect to enjoy the Resident Evil 7 PSVR experience with enhanced features. Specifically, the title will support HDR and 4K output, which further enhances PSVR functionality when playing through the Texas Chainsaw Massacre-flavored horror sequel.
In addition, the software giant also revealed that HDR support is coming to Xbox One S, while PC users will be able to enjoy both HDR and 4K output. It’s worth mentioning that PSVR support is exclusive to Sony’s console for a year, after which other formats will support Resident Evil 7 in virtual reality.
Elsewhere, the Resident Evil Facebook page has revealed that European gamers can expect details on the Resident Evil 7 Collector’s Edition to drop next week. As you may recall, GameStop U.S. has secured rights to an exclusive collector’s edition across the pond, featuring a replica Baker mansion and other physical goodies.
Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. The game takes place four years after the events of Resident Evil 6, and sees players controlling newcomer Ethan; a regular civilian searching for his missing wife in a mysterious plantation mansion in the southern United States. However, he soon finds out that the mansion is home to the malevolent and seemingly cannibalistic Baker family, who stalk him tenaciously throughout his journey.
Players can try out the Resident Evil 7 demo now via the PlayStation Store, which offers a glimpse at what Capcom is aiming for with its horror sequel. The demo has already been updated once already, and it is expected a second patch will be implemented in early December.
