Bandai Namco Games has announced that the upcoming home console version of Tekken 7 will be receiving a slew of new content throughout 2017 and into next year, chief among which includes two exclusive guests characters from as-yet unconfirmed video game licences.
The first chunk of new content will be made available for the fighting game sequel in summer 2017, and includes a new game mode and over 50 new character costumes. This will be followed by fresh content drops in winter 2017 and spring 2018, which feature one exclusive playable guest character, a special stage, and extra costumes for these new combatants. The content can be purchased separately or will come as part of the Tekken 7 Season Pass.

Tekken 7 will be released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One on June 2, 2017. The game’s storyline will focus on the epic showdown between Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima, a feud that has been on-going for more than 20 years, and features a guest appearance by Street Fighter’s Akuma. In terms of gameplay, the development team has spiced things up with a number of fresh ideas, including the Rage Art and Tailspin attack, as well as introducing a series of brand new Tekken 7 characters including the series’ first ever Saudi Arabian brawler, Shaheen.
The game will be available in two different versions for launch: the standard edition and the Collector’s Edition, the latter of which includes a host of extra physical content such as a Kazuya and Heihachi statue and Steelbook case. Don’t get your hopes up for PS4 vs Xbox One matches though; cross-play is not happening.
