Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will take at least 60 hours to complete with a 100 per cent sync rating.
Quizzed by Destructoid how long the pirate-themed stealth-action title will last players, game director Ashraf Ismail said, “one guy in the office actually did it two weeks ago for the first time. He got a 100% sync, which was mind blowing. This was one of our testers, so imagine he’s a tester who knows the game really well. He’s been working on the game for a year and a half. From zero to a hundred on one build [of the game], it took him 48/49 hours. The thing is, he knew what he was doing is the crazy part.”
For newcomers however – that means us gamers – Ashraf predicts that we’re looking at about 60-80 hours worth of play time for Edward Kenway’s swashbuckling adventure.
This number represents a full sync rating though; the core storyline experience will last around 20 hours, which is in line with previous Assassin’s Creed titles.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is set during the Golden Age of Piracy during the early 1700s, and sees Edward Kenway and his band of pirates plundering their way across the high seas on board the Jackdaw. Along the way, Kenway engages in naval warfare and becomes tangled up in the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and Templar orders.
Black Flag is due out on current-generation systems in the U.S. on October 29 and in Europe on November 1. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will arrive in late November.
