Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has already eclipsed lifetime sales of its 2008 predecessor in the U.K. after just three weeks on sale.
The critically-acclaimed crime romp sold over 1.57 million copies in the U.K. in just 24 hours, pulling in a massive £65 million in revenue.
GTA V has now gone on to become the 12th best-selling game of all time in the country in just three weeks. It places fifth in terms of overall revenue, behind – unsurprisingly – four of Activision’s Call of Duty titles.
However, Rockstar’s open-world sequel is snapping at the heels of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ overall revenue.
Rockstar has run into a bit of trouble recently following the launch of GTA V’s online companion, GTA Online, which experienced numerous issues on both formats.
