Hideo Kojima’s Project Ogre is an open-world game

Hideo Kojima’s next game, codenamed Project Ogre, will be an open-world title, the developer has confirmed.

Chatting with CNN, the Kojima Productions boss revealed that he’s eager to “make something very free” as opposed to “making something very cinematic” ala Metal Gear Solid.

“The kind of game I’m making is some game that has a very wide entrance, a very open entrance,” he added.

CNN quotes Kojima confirming that Project Ogre is “set in a very open world where players can wander around and explore freely. Players should still be able to find new sights and worthwhile adventures after having played the game for as many as 100 hours.”

Kojima teased two new images of his studio’s Fox Engine last week, having fully unveiled the tech at E3 back in June.

Stay tuned for more details on Project Ogre as they break.
