Michael Gamble, producer and community manager for BioWare, has said that Mass Effect 3 will be the final chapter for game’s protagonist Commander Shepard, but not for the series.
“After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete,” told Gamble, in an interview with PC Gamer. He was also asked if Shepherd would definitely not appear in future Mass Effect games, to which he responded, "correct."
While no clear indication was given about the Mass Effect 3’s ending, it has been confirmed that the player can make choices leading to the demise of the human spectre.
Mass Effect 3 is due out next march on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
