Metal Gear Solid 5 to launch in Konami’s FY2014, predicts analyst firm

Nomura Securities has predicted that Metal Gear Solid 5 will launch at some point during Konami’s fiscal 2014.

The investment analyst company’s forecast puts the stealth-action title out any time between the beginning of April 2013 and the end of May 2014.

In addition, the firm anticipates Konami’s operating earnings for FY2014 to rise by 15 per cent, largely thanks to MGS5’s release.

Of course, the game hasn’t been formally announced yet, but series creator Hideo Kojima has hinted on more than one occasion that a follow-up to 2008’s Metal Gear Solid 4 will drop at some point.

The developer said last year that one of the ideas he had for a potential fifth instalment in the series revolved around The Boss and the Cobra Unit during the invasion of Normandy in World War II.

For now, however, the Kojima Productions head is busy working on his latest title, codenamed Project Ogre.
