Sony sold over 6.5 million PlayStation console units globally during the period November 18 – December 31, 2011, the company has announced.
The number accounts for approximately 3.9 million PlayStation 3 consoles, as well as 1.6 million PlayStation Portables, 500,000 PlayStation 2s and 500,000 PlayStation Vita handhelds.
The latter only launched in Japan on December 17, and will be released in the U.S. and Europe on February 22.
Lastly, the electronics giant also revealed that it moved 1.7 million PlayStation Move units during the holiday period.
