Tekken Tag 2 confirmed for holiday 2012

Namco Bandai has confirmed that brawler Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be released in “holiday 2012.”

The publisher confirmed that the game will be released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, having previously only announced it would be coming to Sony’s platform.

Console owners can look forward to various features not present in the arcade release, such as tweaked online play.

Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada commented: "We have heard the voice of fans directly at various tournaments and through social media."

 

"As Tekken is the top-selling fighting game franchise worldwide we know expectations for the widely anticipated sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament are high, but we are confident we can deliver what you’ve been asking for and even more."

A playable teaser of Tekken Tag 2 is included in the PS3-exclusice release Tekken Hybrid, which also features the CG flick Tekken: Blood Vengeance and a HD revamp of the original Tekken Tag.
