Claims made by Sony that the PlayStation 4 version of Watch Dogs runs at 1080p/60fps have been removed by the platform holder.
Sony originally posted the claims on its official PlayStation website, though have since removed any mention of the open world hacking title’s frame rate and resolution.
Despite this, it still boasts that the PS4 version will “offer the best graphics on any console,” allowing players to “experience Watch_Dogs in a way that only PS4 can provide.”
Reports on the performance on Watch Dogs have been circulating since last autumn, when Ubisoft said that the game would run at 30fps on PS4. Early this year, reports cropped up suggesting Watch Dogs on PS4 would outperform its Xbox One counterpart.
Just last month, Ubisoft seemingly confirmed that the ambitious title clocks in at 1080p, though the frame rate performance continues to remain up in the air.
Still, we presumably won’t have to wait long to find out, as May 27 marks the worldwide release of Ubisoft’s hotly anticipated action adventure title.
Recently, it was confirmed by Sony that the bonus content for the PS3 and PS4 editions of Watch Dogs is only a timed exclusive.
