Red Dead Redemption 2 new trailer incoming in latest update
Rockstar Games confirmed last week that it will make a new Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement on Thursday, September 28.
Right now, we’re completely in the dark as to what the Grand Theft Auto developer has in store for us, although considering it’s remained relatively tight-lipped on the upcoming Wild West sequel in recent months, we’re eager to see what the company has up its sleeves.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 TGS 2017 trailer revealed nothing new, but we know there’s going to be some new revelations during the upcoming reveal which takes tomorrow at the following time:
- UK: 4pm (BST)
- Europe: 5pm (CEST)
- East Coast US: 11am (EDT)
- West Coast US: 8am (PDT)
What can we expect from the big Red Dead Redemption 2 news, though?
We’ve got a few ideas brewing, so here’s our thoughts on the matter.
Red Dead Redemption 2 new trailer
The most obvious candidate would be a new trailer for the action-adventure title. We’ve seen little footage on Red Dead Redemption 2 since its unveiling in fall 2016, so it’s about time that Rockstar blew the lid on the highly anticipated title by showcasing a lengthy Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay trailer, offering a firm look at how RDR2 is shaping up. How about a glimpse at its playable characters, open-world, and combat? That’d definitely make the wait until spring 2018 a lot more bearable.
Here’s the latest RDR2 trailer.
Red Dead Redemption 2 release date
We already know that Rockstar has postponed Red Dead Redemption 2’s release window until spring of next year, having previously pencilled in the game for a fall 2017 launch. Despite this, we don’t know exactly when the game will hit stores, so a firm release date announcement would be more than welcome for Thursday’s reveal.
Thanks to Take-Two however, we at least have an idea of when the game will ship, with the publishing behemoth confirming RDR2 will arrive during its 2019 FY – in other words, expect it after April 1, 2018. Let’s hope Rockstar decide to give us something concrete tomorrow.
Red Dead Redemption 2 beta
Rockstar isn’t known for offering betas for its upcoming titles, but a Red Dead Redemption 2 beta could still happen. It probably doesn’t help that the possibility has been tainted by the fake invites that were sent out a few weeks back, but the prospect of it actually happen is not only tantalizing, but also possible.
We already know that Rockstar is crafting a comprehensive multiplayer experience for RDR2, possibly similar to what the studio has done with Grand Theft Auto 5. This will prove a major evolution for the Wild West franchise, seeing as how the brand has been a single-player experience up to this point. As such, a beta would definitely give players a great idea of what to expect, and test the waters for Red Dead’s transition into open-world, online play.
Red Dead Redemption 2 characters
Early teasers for Rockstar’s cowboy-flavored sequel have confirmed that multiple characters will play a central role in the narrative. However, we still don’t know who it is we’ll be playing as, or how many protagonists will feature in the game at this point, or even when exactly the events of the game are set. Will we be playing as a young John Marston and his crew? Or perhaps an entirely new character accompanied by his group of looters? In fact, who says we’ll be on the right side of the law this time around? The Old West is ripe with outlaws, and the prospect of stepping into the dusty cowboy boots of one of these rambunctious folk definitely has us excited.
Any other RDR2 news from Rockstar?
Following the revelation that Grand Theft Auto 5 could be coming to Nintendo Switch, there’s hope from the community that a Red Read Redemption 2 Nintendo Switch announcement will also be made.
