IO Interactive has announced that James Bond epic 007 First Light has soared past four million copies sold worldwide since its launch in May 2026.
“4 million copies sold since launch! Thank you for joining us on this journey and being part James Bond’s return to gaming,” the company wrote on its official X account.
007 First Light is now available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 edition launching later this year. Last month, the head of Amazon Game Studios clarified that there has not been a decision made in regards to sequel to the game. You can read our full review for 007 First Light here.
007 First Light is an origins story for the character and the first major video game entry since 2012’s 007 Legends. In this new adventure, players follow a younger, inexperienced James Bond as he takes on a mission that will grand him 00 status. Other key characters from the series make an appearance, including M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny. In terms of gameplay, the British super spy is able to neutralise foes using parrying and takedowns, and while he’s typically restricted to non-lethal means of taking down foes, he is granted a license to kill where necessary.
