Metal Gear Online was last seen as part of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, allowing teams up to 16 players go head-to-head in online multiplayer battles. The online servers were shuttered in June 2012.
However, in June Kojima-san confirmed that a new iteration in the Metal Gear Online series was in development at Kojima Productions newly-established LA Studios. No doubt this will somehow form part of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, due next year.
