PlayStation Game Size on X has revealed that the Grand Theft Auto VI download size will weigh in at 210GB, so yes, it’s a whopper as expected.
The account also reveals that the game’s preload will go live on November 12 ahead of its release date of November 19.
Grand Theft Auto VI is the latest instalment in Rockstar Games’ hugely successful open-world franchise, and brings the action back to Vice City, a fan-favourite location previously seen in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The game follows criminal couple Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, who become embroiled in a state-wide conspiracy after a failed bank heist and have to watch each others’ backs.
GTA VI encompass many elements of 2020s American cultures including influencer culture, social media, and Internet memes. The game world is massive, with Rockstar confirming it’s around twice as big as the game’s predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, and will incorporate an advanced weather system.
While the game isn’t receiving a traditional physical release (unless you count a code in a box, that is), GTA VI is receiving a special edition in the form of the $400 Vice City Collection, which adds a wealth of physical goodies but doesn’t include the game itself.
