New Mass Effect 4 details drop, Mako will be ‘nimbler’ than original game

Fresh details on the fourth installment in the Mass Effect franchise have surfaced online, courtesy of BioWare designer, Joe Hendriks (via GamingBolt).

Hendriks has been playing a recent build of the upcoming science-fiction RPG, and shed some more light on the game’s iteration of the Mako.

He confirmed that the vehicle is “nimbler than the old Mako,” but “in a good way.” Furthermore, he also revealed players will need to do some “thinking and exploring to get to certain structures.”

For those unaware, the Mako appeared in the original Mass Effect, and allowed gamers to explore uncharted planets. The vehicle was armed with a cannon and heavy machine-gun, which was utilized to fend off enemies, such as deadly Thresher Maws.

That’s about all Hendrik was willing to divulge at present, though he did tease that he “saw a couple more cool things” that he was unable to talk about at the time.

Mass Effect 4 is reportedly due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in 2016. Not a great deal is known about the game so far, although it won’t feature Commander Shepard from the original trilogy.

The latest rumors suggeset it won’t be a prequel however, and BioWare has commented that the game is roughly in the middle of its development cycle. The studio has described the project as ‘beautiful, fun, and ambitious.’
