Rumor: Dark Souls 3 to be announced at E3 2015

According to sources at VG247, Bandai Namco Games will unveil a third chapter in the Dark Souls franchise at E3 2015 later this month.

Not only that, but the source claims that Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Demon’s Souls and the original Dark Souls, will return to helm Dark Souls 3 following his reduced role on 2014’s Dark Souls II.

Platforms have yet to be confirmed, although the site seems to think that the announcement will drop during Sony’s press conference, so a PlayStation 4 release seems very likely at this point.

Dark Souls II has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide to date, and was recently re-released for PS4 and Xbox One as Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Read our review of the enhanced port here.
