After Telltale Games let it slip last month that it was working on something “insanely cool” before it gets to the third season of its smash hit adaptation of The Walking Dead, we now know exactly what that is.
Titled, The Walking Dead: Michonne, the three episode mini-series will detail the past of the titular blade-wielding lone wolf as seen in the graphic novels and the television show. Specifically, the mini-series will chart Michonne’s journey in between issues #126 and #139 of the graphic novel series.
“In many ways, Michonne herself is a reflection of the world of The Walking Dead. She is brutal and cold on the outside, but deep beneath what is broken, she remains hopeful, trying to claw her way out of the darkness that surrounds her,"said Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead. "In our effort to bring the world of the comic and the world of the Telltale series closer together, there is no greater character than Michonne to help bridge that gap."
Telltale Games has yet to confirm whether or not actress Danai Gurira, who portrays the character in the television show, will step in and provide her voice talents for her digital counterpart in the game.
Set to release this autumn on PS4 and PS3 via the PlayStation Network, The Walking Dead: Michonne requires that players own the first episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two in order to play it.
