Bungie has confirmed that players can still look forward to frequent Strange Coin drops with Destiny: The Taken King, even if the expansion will be axing the Weekly Heroic Strike.
Prior to The Taken King, Strange Coins, which are used as currency to purchase goods from Xur, could be acquired by completing the Heroic Strike on any difficulty. However, completing the highest difficulty would net you a total of nine Strange Coins.
Despite plans to axe the weekly Heroic Strike, Bungie has confirmed that players can still acquire Strange Coins for use with Xur, and that their drop rate has been increased.
“In Destiny The Taken King, Strange Coins are not going away even though the Weekly source is gone. Coins will still appear in a variety of activities," said the company on Twitter.
The Taken King arrives on September 1.
