Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has unveiled a new Star Wars-themed Darth Vader DualShock 4 controller.
The standalone peripheral will go on sale on November 18, which coincides nicely with the launch of the hotly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The Darth Vader DualShock 4 was previously only available as part of the Star Wars Battlefront PS4 bundle, which features a striking design inspired by the Dark Lord of the Sith, although gamers will now be able to pick it up separately to complement their existing PS4 lineup. No price was given, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled to ship on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 17 and November 20 in North America and Europe, respectively. Battlefront is seen as a reboot of sorts of the popular science-fiction shooter franchise, which garnered huge popularity during the PS2 era. However, unlike previous games, the game won’t include a single-player campaign, instead focusing on large-scale multiplayer battles across iconic planets such as Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, and Sullust. The game can be played from a first-person or third-person perspective, although reports from the beta suggest that the former is preferable.
Players take on the role of either the Rebels or the Empire as they go head-to-head in heated firefights, where you’ll be taking down massive walkers, securing drop pods, and even stepping into the legendary boots of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, and many more of Star Wars’ iconic characters. Battlefront’s Season Pass will set you back $49.99, though unlike many modern video games will not feature microtransactions. In terms of performance, the game will run at 900p on PS4, and EA has promised that the post-launch lineup for Battlefront will include new universes and weapons among other such content.
