Final Fantasy XV is getting 10,000 new copies of its amazing Ultimate Collector’s Edition

Square Enix has revealed it is manufacturing 10,000 new copies of the Ultimate Collector’s Edition for Final Fantasy XV.

The publishing giant confirmed that this is the final batch being produced and will be made available worldwide for those who want to get their hands on the content-rich bundle. However, it noted it may not be able to guarantee availability for launch day.

Rest assured we are trying our absolute hardest to get them to fans in time,” said the company. “We will of course provide updates on this closer to the time of release as we know how important it is for you guys to have the game as early as possible.”

Final Fantasy XV is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 30, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game takes place in the open-world of Eos, where gamers follow the story of Noctis, a heir to the Lucien throne who is forced into exile by the invading forces of Niflheim.

This latest entry in the venerable JRPG series is more action-oriented than previous instalments, and offers plenty of exploration opportunities in comparison to the more linear gameplay experience of Final Fantasy XIII.

Final Fantasy XV was announced ten year ago at E3 2006 as the PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII. However, Square Enix decided to revamp the project when it was around 25 percent complete, and re-revealed the game for current-gen systems at E3 2013.
