Take-Two is definitely working on a BioShock Collection for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to industry insider, Shinobi602.
Speaking on HamRadio (via MrMattyPlays), Shinobi, who has a solid reputation when it comes to outing video games well ahead of schedule, made it clear that a high-definition BioShock bundle is definitely on the cards.
"Oh that’s happening. It’s just, yeah I was kind of surprised too, when they put out that earnings call [and said] it wouldn’t be out by [the end of the year]. I don’t know what they’re waiting for," he said.
The earnings he refers to is Take-Two’s latest financial report, where the publishing giant did not reveal a BioShock Collection as part of its lineup for the remainder of the year. In fact, they didn’t mention it, period.
Elsewhere, Shinobi also touched on the future of the series, indicating we shouldn’t expect a new BioShock to show its face at E3 next week.
“I wouldn’t expect anything…I’m not saying there’s not BioShock stuff going on…Maybe, it might be there, I just wouldn’t expect it because Irrational was dissolved…but they’re putting a new together to work on a new BioShock, but I’m just saying [I don’t expect it at E3]."
BioShock Collection is the perfect stopgap before 2K Marin’s new game
BioShock Collection has been rumored for some time now, having been rated in both Brazil and North America and recently had its boxart leaked.
As you’d expect, the bundle is set to feature all three BioShock games to date; BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, presumably complete with all previously available downloadable content.
Despite series developer Irrational Games folding a few years back, Take-Two has confirmed that 2K Marin is heading up the next chapter in the critically acclaimed, cerebral first-person shooter series.
No details have been revealed to date, although hopefully we’ll hear something soon enough.
