Massive 224-song Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone for PS4 lands in the West on January 10

Sega announced Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone, a PlayStation 4-exclusive port of the hit arcade rhythm game, will be localized for the Americas and Europe and will see a digital-only release on PlayStation Network on January 10, 2017.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone will launch as a free download containing two songs, while the 200+ complete library songs will be split between two $29.99 song packs named “Future Sound” and “Colorful Tone.” For the full experience, both song packs can be purchased together for $53.99.

The massive rhythm game originally released as a digital-exclusive in Japan back in June at 3,900 yen (~$40) for each of the song packs, making the cost of both roughly $80.

Future Tone is easily the biggest Hatsune Miku game to date, containing a total of 224 songs with five difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard, And Extreme, Extra Extreme), 340 costumes, and rendered in full HD 1080p at 60fps. Taking after the arcade game, players will find new mechanics not present in the Project DIVA console titles.

I purchased the Japanese release this past summer and Future Tone is easily a favorite of mine in the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA franchise. I found the graphics and visual style in particular to look better than the other console iterations released thus far. If you’re a fan of Miku, this is one game I’d highly recommend.

Here’s the official features list from Sega:

– Energy to Surpass Miku Herself – As the arcade version of Hatsune Miku, Future Tone amps up the game’s speed and energy, and players will need to master a different style of control, making it the most frenetic Miku rhythm game yet.

– Choose from Hundreds of Songs – With a final tally of 224 songs across both of Future Tone’s packages, the game features the most expansive collection of songs yet from Hatsune Miku and her friends.

– Set the Stage – Dress up Hatsune Miku and her friends with more 340 unique costume modules and accessories across the Future Tone packages. Players who purchase both packages will get access to an exclusive feature where they can mix and match costumes and hairstyles.

– Bring the House Down -Future Tone takes full advantage of the PlayStation 4 and will present all of the arcade-style action rendered in glorious 1080p/60fps.
