The lead designer for Mass Effect Andromeda has dropped a few new tantalizing tidbits on the multiplayer component for the upcoming sci-fi RPG.
Speaking on Twitter, Ian Frazier confirmed that those of you playing the Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer will be rewarded in some capacity, though was quick to note that it won’t feature the same template as Mass Effect 3 when it comes to influencing the main campaign.
Said Frazier: “It’s possible to earn [single-player] rewards in the process. (multiplayer doesn’t impact single-player’s story like in Mass Effect 3, though)".
Sadly, Frazier didn’t elaborate any further on what the rewards will actually consist of, although it’s definitely sparked some discussion among the Mass Effect community. The previous game, of course, featured an online component that directly affected the main campaign, as players gathered war assets to fuel the ongoing war against the Reapers.
Mass Effect Andromeda is scheduled for release in the U.S. on March 21 and in Europe on March 24 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game will also support Sony’s high-end PS4 Pro console. Set 600 years after the events of the original trilogy, Mass Effect Andromeda focuses on galactic exploration, with players controlling newcomer Ryder; a pathfinder tasked with finding a new home for humanity.
Oh, and from what BioWare has teased, we can expect some pretty decent sex scenes for the latest Mass Effect.
