Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition release date confirmed
Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) has super-glued a release date to the upcoming Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition for PlayStation 4, while also confirming the fast-paced shooter will support a special guest character.
Originally released back in 2011, Bulletstorm will arrive on PS4 with a fresh coat of current-generation paint on April 7, 2017. Meanwhile, the bubblegum-chewing alien ass-kicker, Duke Nukem, will be available as DLC to take part in the main campaign complete with full voiceover by John St. John.
“Bulletstorm is as gory as it is fast-paced. It favours creative kills, even rewards you for them, and is the core of the gameplay loop. There’s no deliberation over ethics of gunplay. Just a succession of one liners and trigger pulls that are more action era Arnie than modern cinema’s more measured take on battlefield brutality. There’s much in its DNA that Gearbox likely recognised as a twin of its own creation. The pairing then, is an obvious fit,” reads a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Bulletstorm Duke Nukem DLC detailed
“And little wonder why Duke Nukem’s got in on the action as an alternate campaign DLC character, complete with full voiceover (by his real-world other half John St. John) and rewritten lines to suit the Duke. Though, this may be the first time the bubblegum-chewing, alien-killing machine gets outmatched and outclassed in the F-bomb department.”
Bulletstorm was developed by People Can Fly for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 and remains one of the most overlooked gems of the last generation of consoles. The game is noted for its gore-tastic, over-the-top action, where players attempt to get creative with their kills using a variety weapons, plus its crass humor that doffs its cap to the likes of—yep, you’ve guessed it—Duke Nukem.
