Destiny was released for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in September 2014. The game was supported by four major expansions: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron, plus a number of timed events including Festival of the Lost, Crimson Days, and the Sparrow Racing League.
Bungie is currently gearing up for the highly anticipated sequel, which due to ship for PS4, PC, and Xbox One on September 8, 2017, Earlier this month, the former Halo developer hosted a dedicated livestream event where it showcased the first Destiny 2 gameplay footage, as well as confirming a number of new details on the title. Players can look forward to a more expansive open-world this time around, which includes side missions known as Adventures for players to tackle at their leisure. Another key change is The Crucible, Destiny’s multiplayer arena, which has now been revamped to focus on 4v4 matches.
Interestingly, the developer has revealed that the PS4 Pro is not powerful enough to run Destiny 2 at 60fps, although one studio believes it would have been able to do so if Bungie had opted for dedicated servers.
