Mass Effect Andromeda single-player DLC not happening, patch support ceased

mass effect andromeda dlc

By now, it’s kind of safe to say that Mass Effect Andromeda was a disappointment for a lot of fans and for EA’s bank account. So much so that news broke sometime in June that there’s no Mass Effect Andromeda DLC planned for single-player that BioWare has — kind of — rebuked.

Well, now, that story is indeed coming true. In an update by BioWare on the official Mass Effect site, the studio has announced that tehre will be no single-player DLC planned for Mass Effect Andromeda, and what’s more, patch 1.10, which came out this August, will be the final one for the game’s single-player. Here’s an excerpt of the announcement from BioWare.

Our last update, 1.10, was the final update for Mass Effect: Andromeda. There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content.

In the coming weeks, our multiplayer team will provide details of their ongoing support and upcoming content, including new multiplayer missions, character kits, and what’s in store for N7 Day.

At the very least, the multiplayer portion of Mass Effect Andromeda will still be supported, though that’s a small consolation given how the game turned out. Let’s hope whatever in-game issues left in single-player won’t be too severe. It’s one thing to have animation issues, but it’s another if it could potentially break the game, right?

Are you surprised at all by this announcement? Or were you expecting it given the game’s rocky release and reception?
