GameStop has confirmed that Destiny 2 microtransactions are on the cards for the shared-world shooter, with Silver Currency returning from the original game.
The retail giant posted a listing for a number of Silver bundles for Destiny 2, with gamers able to fork out for 1,000 Silver ($10) or 2,000 Silver ($20). In other words, it’s more or less the same as things were in the original Destiny.
What isn’t yet known is how Destiny 2 will implement this currency. The original game allowed players to purchase extras such as emotes and cosmetic items, although it isn’t yet known if Bungie will follow a similar path with the sequel.
Still, there’s a good chance the former Halo developer will be introducing something similar for Destiny 2, and we won’t have to wait long to find out either.
Destiny 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Wednesday, with a PC version arriving on October 24. Today it was confirmed that the game will ship with six Strikes, one of which will be exclusive to PS4 owners.
Details have already leaked regarding the first batch of Destiny 2 DLC, which is rumored to focus on the Vex and will be released in December 2017. Meanwhile, the game’s Raid will go live shortly after release alongside a number of other key features.
In addition, Bungie also confirmed that HDR support will be implemented for PS4 gamers shortly after release.
