Horizon Zero Dawn is not getting any new DLC

Guerrilla Games has confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn will not be receiving any further downloadable content after The Frozen Wilds.

The Amsterdam-based developer dropped the news during a chat with fans on Twitter, where it answered a number of questions for its critically acclaimed open-world game.

For starters, the studio revealed that there are no plans to implement co-op into Horizon. The Frozen Wilds, meanwhile, can be played without finishing the main campaign, and its location expands upon the existing game map.

Elsewhere, the company revealed that the upcoming Horizon Complete Edition will feature all DLC items seen in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

In addition, the Complete Edition includes all DLC items and the Frozen Wilds expansion disc. The only digital-based content will be the theme and artbook.

The Frozen Wilds is due for release on PlayStation 4 on November 7, while the Horizon Complete Edition ship on December 6.

While the original game will not be receiving any more content, there’s still hope for a potential Horizon 2. Sony has expressed interest in seeing the series expand, while Guerrilla Games has admitted that they have been drafting ideas for a follow-up.

A sequel wouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Horizon Zero Dawn has solds over 3.4 million copies to date since its launch in February 2017, and attracted widespread critical acclaim.

Horizon is the first original IP from Guerrilla Games since it introduced Killzone back in the mid-2000s.
