Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 servers will be pulled offline tomorrow afternoon as the developer prepares to launch a new update.
The downtime will kick off at 3.00pm GMT, at which point gamers will no longer be able to log in to the alien shooter. Those of you who are already playing Destiny 2 will be booted out at 4.00pm until maintenance wraps up around 7.00pm.
Bungie has confirmed that the downtime will be followed by the launch of Destiny 2 update 1.6. Full patch notes will be distributed at a later date.
We already know that the update will fix a bug with one of the game’s emotes, the Monty Python-inspired Bureaucratic Walk, which allows players to glitch through walls.
Destiny 2 DLC release date confirmed
Sony announced on Monday that the first batch of Destiny 2 DLC, Curse of Osiris, will launch on PS4 on December 5, 2017.
The expansion sees Guardians attempting to rescue the legendary Warlock Guardian, and introduces a new Patrol zone on Mercury and the Lighthouse social space. In addition, Curse of Osiris also features a PS4-exclusive Crucible map.
Bungie recently outlined its content strategy for the MMO-shooter, which includes various seasons throughout Destiny 2’s first year.
While Destiny 2 has already proven a chart success, physical sales of the game are down by 50 percent in comparison to the original game.
In addition, the game’s player base has steadily dropped since it peaking at 3.5 million a few weeks after launch. However, the figure dropped by over two million by October 19.
