BioShock 2 drops subtitle yet again

2K Games is now claiming that BioShock 2 will no longer feature the subtitle Sea of Dreams despite previous reports to the contrary.

Speaking to IGN, the company said that Sea of Dreams merely referred to the title for the teaser trailer released in October 2008, with the actual game now known simply as BioShock 2. Despite this, the firm admitted it discussed the possibility of using Sea of Dreams as an official subtitle, though ultimately the idea was dropped.

"We name most of our trailers at 2K and the name of the teaser trailer we released last October for BioShock 2 is called Sea of Dreams," a spokesperson said. “There was talk about adding that as an official subtitle, but we decided to simply keep it BioShock 2. We’re sorry for the confusion, but we’re glad people are so interested."

Interestingly the company previously denied that it had dropped the Sea of Dreams subtitle in a discussion with Eurogamer. Hopefully this will prove the end of anymore confusion surrounding the subject.

BioShock 2 is due out later this year.
