Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, the action-RPG developed by Falcom, will be receiving a native PS5 release in Spring 2023, publisher NIS America has announced.
The PS5 version of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will include all previously released DLC, and you can snap up a Limited Edition version of the game via NIS America Online Store, which is now available for preorder for $89.99. In addition to a copy of the game, this includes the official soundtrack CD, a prequel short novel ‘The Lost Sword,’ art card collection, 200-piece puzzle and collector’s box.
Here’s some basic background info:
Renowned adventurer Adol “the Red” Christin and his companion Dogi arrive at Balduq, a city annexed by the Romun Empire, only for Adol to be detained before their adventure can begin. While imprisoned, Adol meets a mysterious woman named Aprilis who turns him into a Monstrum—a being with supernatural Gifts and the power to exorcize monsters.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was originally released in February last year in the US and Europe for PS4, and also came to the PC and Nintendo Switch a few months later. You can read our full review of the PS4 version here.
