Grand Theft Auto 6 Grand Theft Auto VI Price GTA 6 $100 GTA VI Price News PS5 Take-Two

Analyst Says There Is ‘Hope’ GTA 6 Will Cost Up To $100

Analyst Matthew Ball has revealed that there is “hope” within the industry that Rockstar Games‘ hugely anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI will cost up to $100, so that other studios may raise the cost of their games as triple-A development continues to swell.

Speaking in the newly-published State of Video Gaming in 2025, Ball stated that if Take-Two were to bump the price of GTA VI to $100, with the game selling well due due to the sheer amount of hype surrounding it, then others could follow in their footsteps to combat rising development costs.

Take-Two was one of the first publishers to raise the cost of games back in 2020, introducing a premium price tag of $69.99 as the new generation of hardware got underway. However, in regards to GTA VI it is still expected the standard version of the game will retail for $70.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with a release schedule for Fall 2025. While an exact launch date has yet to be confirmed, Rockstar is still advertising the Fall window in a recent recruitment ad, so there is hope that there won’t be any delays. In addition, it has been claimed that publishers are holding off committing to release dates for their games to avoid clashing with GTA VI.
