Bigmode Games, the game publishing studio founded by popular YouTuber Videogamedunkey has announced the release date for the publisher’s debut title, Animal Well, developed by Billy Basso, which will hit PS5 on May 9, 2024.
The news was announced in the most recent video published to YouTube by Videogamedunkey, which kicks off with the release date trailer before moving onto the video’s main topic, the recent Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection release.
Basso is the sole developer for Animal Well, which we first heard about in 2022. A year later it was revealed that Animal Well was to be the first title published with Bigmode.
Animal Well is a dark and mysterious platformer that is described as “a game of secrets” on the game’s official Twitter page. You can check out the release date trailer for yourself, below.
Animal Well took Basso “nearly 7 years” to create, he said in a tweet to go along with the release date announcement.
While it being the first game to be published by a popular YouTuber-turned-games publisher definitely helped get the word out about Animal Well, it’s intriguing art style and design was already more than enough to capture players interest.
It’ll be interesting to see what the final game is like when it releases this May.
