The news was confirmed with a statement from Studio Wildcard posted to the game’s official Twitter account, who were proud to announce they would be launching the PS5 version ahead of the studio’s previously planned release window.
Well, a day ahead, as it was originally meant to arrive in “early December,” so a November 30 release is almost the epitome of getting it in ‘under the wire.’
“We appreciate your patience while we worked to launch ARK: Survival Ascended on PlayStation.” Studio Wildcard began.
“We were expecting a launch date in early December, but we are thrilled to announce that the launch date has been set for this Thursday, November 30 at 9am PT.
Similar to other console launches, the new set of official servers will not go online until a few hours after the launch to allow ample time for downloading.
This will ensure everyone has a fair chance to join the game and experience ARK: Survival Ascended. The new official servers will also go online with bonus rates (for a period of time) to allow for everyone to catch up.”
Studio Wildcard also clarified that there will be a “join failure” issue which will be unfixed when it launches on PS5 this Thursday, though it will be fixed in the game’s first patch for the platform.
As to why this is, Studio Wildcard says “We hadn’t identified the issue at the time of submission so it won’t be available at the time of launch.”
Hopefully it won’t be much longer then for that initial patch, and players will be unencumbered in their efforts to enjoy ARK: Survival Ascended.
