Shams Jorjani, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, has revealed on the Helldivers 2 Discord server that the studio has “no plans” for a sequel, although that’s hardly surprising at this point since Helldivesr 2 only came out last year.
Speaking in regards to Arrowhead’s future plans, Jorjani confirmed “no plans for [Helldivesr 3] — just [Helldivesr 2] for as long as it can go,” stating that fans should “think RuneScape” for an idea of how things will play out.
Myself and the directors agree we would love this to be a forever game. Assuming we get a grip on the performance and dev practices we can keep expanding it for a long time. PlayStation is super supportive.

Helldivers 2 was originally released for the PS5 and PC back in February 2024, and Arrowhead has been frequently updating the bug-blasting sequel with new content updates ever since. The game later expanded to Xbox Series X/S in August 2025, where it ranked as the top paid game on the Xbox website.
