Richard Knight, Game Director on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, has hinted during an interview with YouTuber JorRaptor that Ubisoft may be looking dish out post-launch content for the swashbuckling, Caribbean-set adventure.
Ubisoft had previously confirmed that it’s working on a New Game Plus mode for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, but Knight has now indicated that we may get more than that, encouraging fans to keep playing the game even when Grand Theft Auto VI comes out this November.
I mean, I can’t say anything officially, but you know, it doesn’t feel like a crazy bet. I mean, we definitely need to support the game… We need to, you know, fix bugs. Sorry for anyone running into bugs. They hurt. They’re painful for us, too. And we do want to add some quality-of-life stuff. So, I mean, it’s a pretty reasonable guess. Also, please play us when GTA 6 comes out.
The original version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag received a major story expansion known as Freedom Cry, which saw players controlling Adewale in a brand new story following the events of the main game. This wasn’t included in Black Flag Resynced, so one has to wonder if maybe Ubisoft will consider revisiting Freedom Cry for any potential post-launch content.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on July 9, 2026, and has sold three million copies worldwide.
