Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced New Game Plus Mode Is In Development

Richard Knight, the game director on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, has revealed during a chat with JorRaptor on YouTube that the development team is working on a New Game Plus mode for the swashbuckling title.

Well, this is the one thing I can say: Yes, we’re working on that right now. For sure. It’s one of the first things. Partly because Shadows has already built their version, so it’s considered a low-risk feature for us. We’re still doing the work, so I can’t promise exactly a day or anything, but we’re definitely working on this one. It’s just such a natural thing.

Knight joked that Assassin’s Creed Shadows Associate Game Director, Simon Lemay-Comtois, “did the hard work,” offering the Black Flag Rescind team “something to look at” while noting that “our games are not exactly the same.” He noted that “we have different challenges in terms of how that works. We can’t skip to the hideout, necessarily. But we’re looking into it.”

When asked if there will be any extra rewards in New Game Plus similar to AC Shadows, Knight replied: “If it’s up to me, yes. There’s still production discussions about what we can do and how much time it takes. Every item we make needs a model. Sometimes it needs cloth sim. All sorts of things.”

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched on July 9, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and has already sold two million copies worldwide. You can have a butcher’s at our full verdict on the game here.
