Assassin’s Creed III dev urges players to grab day-one patch

Assassin’s Creed III’s launch is being complemented by a day-one patch designed to remedy an array of nasty bugs, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The French publisher encourages all ACIII owners to snap up the free update as soon as possible, stating it is “designed to optimise your player experience.” It is therefore “highly recommended” you grab it, the firm added.

Sadly for early adopters the game has been plagued by some pesky issues at launch. One such niggle saw NPCs spawn too far away, while another had players unable to move after diving from a waterfall or emerging from a haystack.

Due out today in the U.S. and tomorrow in the U.K. and mainland Europe, Assassin’s Creed III introduces players to an all-new setting –  namely the American Revolution – and a fresh faced hero in Connor Kenway. It also features a refined combat system and is powered by Ubisoft’s new Anvil Next game engine, creating what the firm labels a ‘next-gen Assassin’s Creed experience.’
