Desmond will feature heavily in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft’s Matt Turner has confirmed.
Speaking with CVG at a recent preview event, lead writer Turner confirmed that gamers will “experience more” of the barman-turned-assassin “than [they] ever have before.”
“All I can say about Desmond’s story is you’re going to experience more Desmond than you’ve ever had before,” revealed Turner. “We’re spending more time on the present than we have in past games.
“It’s a big part of our story and I don’t really want to give too many details away because I want people to experience what that is. But rest assured, you’re going to see a lot of Desmond.”
“More so than in any past game,” he added.
Elsewhere, Turner admitted it was far “harder” to pen the game’s story compared to previous entries, primarily due to the fact the Revolutionary time period has been “very well documented.” As such, the developers had to really “pay attention to it.”
Assassin’s Creed III is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in the U.S. on October 30, with a European launch due on October 31.
