Assassin’s Creed insider ‘j0nathan’ has claimed that Ubisoft‘s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity will feature a monthly subscription plan and place an emphasis on microtransactions.
A translation of his post on Twitter reads as follows, although keep in mind that nothing has been announced by Ubisoft yet, so it’s all just speculation at this point.
If what I’ve been told is true, Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be quite focused on microtransactions, with a monthly subscription (a bit like GamePass) which will give access to all the old AC games (not sure about the new ones) , future DLCs, one exclusive skin/item per month etc.
It wouldn’t be surprising when we see how much Ubisoft has made most of the paid skins on Odyssey and Valhalla, but this would be worse…

Assassin’s Creed Infinity was officially announced back in 2021, and will act as a live-service platform that features multiple settings and connected games for the franchise. The publisher later revealed in an earnings call that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will not be free-to-play, and promised “a lot of narrative elements in it.”
A report on Insider Gaming earlier this year claimed that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will release a major title every two years, and will keep players ticking over with shorter live service-focused experiences in between.
