Fans have been clamouring for a Japanese setting for a mainline Assassin’s Creed game for years now, although Ubisoft has still yet to commit to the location.

Interestingly, Jeff Grubb has said this week that there will be an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan, which is most likely to going to form part of the live service entry, Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Prior to that, Assassin’s Creed Rift is supposedly going to take place in Baghdad.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Assassin’s Creed, with the original game launching in November 2007 for PS3 and Xbox 360. Ubisoft will be revealing its plans for the future of the franchise during a special event in September.
