Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has managed to smash a record for the mega-publisher months ahead of launch.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Reveal Breaks Ubisoft Record
Frederick Duguet, Ubisoft’s chief financial officer, commented:
The reveal was spectacular and set new records in terms of Ubisoft game announcements. “We had over 100 million views of the trailer in the first 10 days, making it the most viewed trailer in Ubisoft history. Since the reveal, the cumulative view of official and UGC videos is close to an amazing 200 million.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also remained at the top of trending topics lists on Twitter for several days from April 30 [when the trailer was released] in many countries – a first ever for Ubisoft.
As a demonstration of the current excitement around the franchise, we also saw a very meaningful spike in player engagement with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently in the works for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. The stealth-focussed title will take place during the Dark Ages in the 9th century, with players waging war as a fierce Viking warrior who at some point appears to be affiliated with the Assassin Brotherhood.
According to a listing on Amazon, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released in mid-October.
