Ubisotft’s Benoit Richer has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will feature Mortal Kombat-style X-Ray kills which are triggered by the player.

A recent look at the game’s combat system during Ubisoft Forward revealed a quick shot of what appeared to be an X-Ray kill, similar to what the recent Mortal Kombat titles have used. When quizzed about this on Twitter, Richer revealed that they happen during gameplay and are player triggered.

When asked if they can be disabled, he added: “Don’t worry it’s only under a certain context that I won’t explain not to spoil anything.”

Ubisoft previously revealed that there will be around 25 enemy archetypes in the upcoming Viking romp, which will see players controlling a warrior named Eivor. You can view a trailer about the character here.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is pencilled in for release on November 17 for PS4, PC and Xbox One. The game will also be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X in time for launch.
